Lockheed Martin’s Orlando Missiles & Fire Control facility lands $116M contract
ORLANDO, Fla. — Lockheed Martin’s popular military missile hit a milestone this week, topping more than $600 million in contract awards.
The contract that pushed it over that mark? The Bethesda, Maryland-based company’s Missiles & Fire Control facility in Orlando landed a $116 million contract for its Joint Air-to-Surface Standoff Missile-Extended Range (JASSM-ER). The company announced the contract with the U.S. Air Force on April 21.
While the full production of the missiles take place at the company’s manufacturing facility in Troy, Ala., the JASSM program sustains approximately 160 jobs in Orlando, consisting of production operators, engineering support and program management.
