Amazon’s second Jacksonville expansion means 1,200 more jobs for city
JACKSONVILLE – Amazon will employ at least 2,700 people in Jacksonville, thanks to a second fulfillment center that will bring $115 million in investment to Cecil Commerce Center, the Jacksonville Business Journal reports.
The 1-million-square-foot facility will add another 1,200 jobs at the Westside industrial park that is being developed by Hillwood for the city of Jacksonville. That’s in addition to a July announcement that Amazon would invest $200 million in a multi-tiered distribution center in North Jacksonville near Jacksonville International Airport.
Out of the 1,200 jobs the project will create, 325 of them will pay more than $50,000, according to city’s economic development legislation. For career information, click here.
